THE INTERESTED ENTERPRISE MUST ENSURE THAT IT MEETS THE FOLLOWING ELEMENTS OF THE CRITERION IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR RELIEF FUNDING. THIS CRITERION DOES NOT APPLY TO TOURIST GUIDES:
IN THE CASE OF TOURIST GUIDES INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE KZN TOURISM RELIEF FUND, SEPARATE CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS WILL BE USED AS SET-OUT HEREUNDER.
Interested tourist guides must ensure that they meet the following elements of the criterion in order to qualify for relief funding:
Handling and responding to enquires
Receipt and verification of applications
Screening & selection of qualifying applications
Independent assessment of qualifying applications
Recommendations for approval & approval of funding.
Issue written notifications to qualifying applicants/enterprises.
Administer and effect payments to qualifying enterprises.
TOURISM ENTERPRISES DOING
BUSINESS ACTIVITIES IN THE
FOLLOWING SECTORS AND SUB-
SECTORS ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
FOR THE RELIEF GRANT FUNDING:
Accommodation: hotels; resort properties: Bed and Breakfasts (B&B’s); and lodges.
Hospitality and Related Services: restaurants (not attached to hotels); conference venues (not attached to hotels), professional catering; attractions.
Travel and Related Services: tour operators; travel agents; tourist guides; car rental companies; and coach operators.
